Policy Influence and Systems Change

ACCESS directly contributed to Kenya’s first Clean Cooking Transition Strategy and E-Cooking Strategy through government Technical Working Groups, advancing priorities on electric cooking, end-user financing, gender inclusion, and community participation. The coalition also influenced Kenya’s Integrated National Energy Planning (INEP) Framework by securing inclusion of Data Management and Coordination sections, and contributed to the National Energy Policy (2025–2034).

ACCESS further submitted recommendations to Kenya’s Mission 300 National Energy Compact (2025–2030), calling for stronger decarbonisation commitments, safeguards against stranded fossil fuel assets, and multi-stakeholder oversight.
