ACCESS Coalition’s Policy Brief 4 calls for a fundamental shift in public energy financing to accelerate universal energy access in Sub-Saharan Africa. It urges the AfDB, World Bank Group, development finance institutions, and national governments to prioritise underserved communities, scale up concessional and grant-based finance, increase investment in decentralised renewable energy and clean cooking, and strengthen transparency and accountability under Mission 300. The brief presents practical recommendations to close financing gaps and advance SDG 7 by 2030.
