Bio

Ms. Jennifer Gitiri is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 14 years’ experience and is the Director, Legal Services and Corporation Secretary at the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority. She is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K), a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and a trained FATF assessor under the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG). She has also participated in both the National Risk Assessment and the Mutual Evaluation for Kenya which evaluates compliance with the Financial Action Taskforce (FATF) Recommendations.

 

Jennifer holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Comparative Constitutional Law from the Central European University, a second LL.M in Public International Law from the University of Nairobi, an Advanced Masters course in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oslo, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi.

 

She has attended various management courses including Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) and Senior Management Course (SMC) at the Kenya School of Government, Corporate Governance Course by the Centre for Corporate Governance, and training for Board members of State Corporation by the Institute of Certified Secretaries.

 

Jennifer was awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSC) by the President of the Republic of Kenya for her outstanding service.
