In the current context, accessing learning on delivery of energy services to poor groups, best practices and identifying global and local expertise is proving to be highly challenging, especially given the limited dedicated spaces for knowledge exchange and technical support.
This new workstream is aimed, firstly, at building the capacity of ACCESS members to be able to carry out informed advocacy on SDG7 implementation and AfDB engagement, and, secondly, to build the understanding and capacity of key external stakeholders involved in energy access decision-making and investing.
In particular, the efforts on building member capacity will be focused on national and regional level organizations involved in delivering regional strategies. The Learning Group will also strengthen the capacity of ACCESS members who also work on nexus issues such as gender, environment, livelihoods to contribute effectively to the integration of SDG7 in other developmental plans and medium and long-term national level planning.
Sharing knowledge and expertise across the membership base of practitioner experience in different regions, including peer-to-peer learning between those delivering services to poor groups in Asia and Africa, will be an important aspect of ensuring that the Coalition has impact.
