Chibeze S. Ezekiel is a young Environmentalist with over 7 years working experience in the Natural Resources and Environmental (NRE) sector. He is a certified Youth Master Trainer on Climate Change by the World Bank Institute and British Council and has acquired professional training in various important areas such as Policy Engagement & Advocacy; National Budget Tracking & Analysis; and Gender.

With hands-on experience and in-depth practical knowledge in a wide range of development work, he serves on a number of platforms providing support in promoting good governance in the governance of Ghana’s environmental sector specifically on Climate Change, Biological Diversity (Biodiversity), Forestry and Energy Access from the youth perspective.

He has demonstrated ability in presentations and organizing advocacies, sensitizations and educational campaigns; good project management through gender lens. As a youth leader, he has successfully championed active youth inclusion in the governance of Ghana’s environmental sector in accordance to both national and international obligations. Faustina is a gender, communications and energy specialist with 20 years of advocacy experience, with ten years experience working on gender and energy. Faustina served as the West Africa Gender Advisor to World Vision and chaired the Ghana Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GHACCO). She is a member of the Gender and Energy Network of Ghana (GEDA). She contributed to the formation of the ACCESS network and is a co-chair for West Africa. She is a member of many international and local women’s rights groups and networks.

Sarah is the Lead Analyst on Climate Change and Energy for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD). She leads CAFOD’s advocacy with a range of stakeholders for universal access to affordable, reliable, safe and sustainable energy to lift poor men and women out of poverty, and for a global shift from polluting fossil fuels to renewable and efficient energy systems to prevent climate change and build sustainable development.

Prior to joining CAFOD in December 2010, she worked as a consultant on natural resource governance and human rights for a range of international development and environment organisations. From 2002-2009, she worked for anti-corruption watchdog Global Witness, investigating corruption in the oil sector in sub-Saharan Africa and advocating for greater extractive sector transparency through the global Publish What You Pay campaign. For several years she was a Board Member of the French NGO Sherpa, which campaigns to protect and defend victims of economic crimes, and is currently a Board Member of Corruption Watch UK.

John is a champion for Climate Change who works to make a difference at grassroot, national and international levels. As Chairman of the Kenya Climate Change Working Group, he coordinates the CSOs activities especially on policy advocacy with government through the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Parliamentary Network on Climate Change and Renewable Energy (PANARECC). He has experience on SE4ALL matters globally. As the CEO-Green Africa Foundation he has conducted research on the impacts of climate change on key thematic areas that informed the Kenya Climate Change Act, He was recently appointed by the President of Kenya to be a member of the National Climate Change Council.

Rita Poppe is advocacy officer Green and Inclusive Energy at Hivos. She works in the field of energy access and climate finance at global level, connecting on the ground energy realities with international policy and finance.
Rita has a background in politics, international relations and lobby and advocacy. She has extensive experience in working for the Dutch and EU parliament as well as in lobby and advocacy on human rights and energy and climate. Rita enjoys working with other stakeholders, bringing about change in unsuspected ways.

Advocacy Officer for Climate and Energy at Hivos in East Africa

Responsible for the strategic development of Practical Action’s global energy work, focusing on off-grid renewable electricity and clean cooking for the poorest communities. Furthermore, Leads PA’s external engagement strategy on energy access and I am co-author of the Poor People’s Energy Outlook. Also an official observer to the Climate Investment Funds.

In her current post as Advocacy Officer at Practical Action, Charlotte supports the organisation’s policy influencing work with a specific focus on promoting universal energy access. She is responsible for coordinating the communications and dissemination of the Poor People’s Energy Outlook research; Practical Action’s flagship policy publication. Charlotte is also particularly interested in the role that gender plays in enabling energy access, and international development more broadly; and is active in Practical Action’s Gender Global Group which aims to enhance gender learning across the organisation.

Jason Farr is an associate policy advisor for Oxfam America. Jason works on issues of clean energy access and shifting international financing towards more pro-poor clean energy investments. Prior to joining Oxfam America in January 2019, Jason worked with the Oxfam International DC office conducting research and policy analysis for international financial institution advocacy efforts. Previously Jason served as a program associate at the Institute for Educational Leadership and on the board of a nonprofit that promotes food access and local agriculture. He holds an M.A. in Global Environmental Policy from American University, a B.A. in International Studies from Michigan State University, and is currently a fellow of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute.

During his 12 years of involvement in the field of access to sustainable and clean energy and fight against energy poverty with GERES, Julien has developed, managed and overseen a variety of projects and programs in different socio-economic, geo-climatic and cultural contexts in Central and South-East Asia and West Africa. He has been posted in the Palestinian Territories, Afghanistan, Indonesia and Cambodia, before relocating in Europe in 2017. His experience spans from clean cooking to productive decentralized electricity to energy efficiency in housing. For the last 4 years, Julien has been managing the transversal expertise unit of GERES. He holds a Master’s degree in International Political Economy and a degree in Linguistics.

Marlistya Citraningrum is currently Program Manager for Sustainable Energy Access at Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Citra, as she is usually called, manages partnership with diverse ministries and government agencies, civil society organizations, association, communities, as well as general public in promoting Indonesia’s transition towards cleaner, more inclusive, and more sustainable energy system. She also performs research and other advocacy activities on energy and gender issues, energy decentralization, and SDGs. Since 2017, Citra is heavily involved in Indonesian Solar Association (ISA), of which IESR is one of its founding members. One of her work with Energy Innovation, WRI, and WRI Indonesia: Energy Policy Simulator (EPS), has been recognized as finalist in Fast Company’s Second Annual World Changing Ideas – an awarding platform for policies, projects, and concepts offering innovative solutions to global challenges. She particularly likes the use of storytelling in research, giving backgrounds and meanings to present hard evidences.

Susan Onyango is a practitioner with over twenty years’ experience in development work most of which has been in handling strategic communication and development initiatives from a gender perspective. Her work experience has involved engaging with different actors in the development arena from community up to policy level in Kenya, the Eastern Africa region and across wider borders.
Currently working at Ressources Géologiques pour le Développement Durable (Géo2D), her role includes research, knowledge-building, advocacy and promotion of local geothermal projects that sustainably serve socio-economic needs of the communities from a gender perspective

Jacqueline is the coordinator for the ACCESS Coalition (Alliance of CSOs for Clean Energy Access). She has more than 7 years of experience in designing and implementing energy projects and programmes. She is also experienced in enabling strategic partnerships at the County and National levels in Kenya aimed at strengthen uptake of renewable energy technologies and influencing policy..
